2026 National Disaster Management Research Seminar, Thohoyandou, Limpopo

The 2026 National Disaster Management Research Seminar is now underway in Thohoyandou, Limpopo, bringing together researchers, academics, policymakers, disaster management practitioners and development partners from across the country to strengthen collaboration and advance evidence-based disaster risk reduction.

The seminar provides a valuable platform for knowledge sharing, research dissemination and partnership-building, while recognising the important role of women in advancing disaster risk reduction, resilience and sustainable development.

Shortly, the Head of the National Disaster Management Centre, Dr Elias Sithole, will deliver the keynote address, setting the tone for a day of engaging discussions on research, innovation and collaborative solutions to strengthen South Africa's disaster management capabilities.
